Welcome to the newest program offered by St Charles Gymnastics Academy. No matter what sport you participate in, the F.A.S.T program will significantly up your game to the next level of play. The program is designed to teach you Form, Agility, Speed and Technique. We will use all of the latest speed and agility training gear and teach you the mechanics of how to strengthen your inner core and balance while enhancing your speed and agility. This program is designed for those athletes who want to up their game and have the edge on the competition.
The F.A.S.T program will focus on the five core areas of speed, power, agility, reaction and quickness. Each training session will run for 1.5 hours and will be structured as follows:
30 Minutes -- Dynamic Warm-Up -- This will be some low impact stretching and conditioning to get the core body temp up and the blood flowing to the muscle fibers to prepare them for rigorous training.
40 Minutes -- Speed, Agility, Reaction and Quickness Drills. The latest training gear will be used here, including Resistance Bands, Agility Ladder, Agility Hurdles,Speed Cones and Resistance Parachutes as well as others.
20 Minutes -- Power Training -- We will run through a series of Plyometric Training that involves movements to toughen tissues and train nerve cells to stimulate a specific pattern of muscle contraction so the muscle generates a contraction as strong as possible in the shortest amount of time. Why is this so important? Muscular power is determined by how long it takes for strength to be converted into speed. The ability to convert strength to speed in a very short time allows for athletic movements beyond what raw strength will allow. Thus adding this type of training into the program is key to achieving power, core strength and solid body stability.
